There are several city parks in Redding as well as the Sacramento River National Recreation Trail which is perfect for bike riding, walking or enjoying watching the beautiful river flow by. Nearby is Shasta Dam & Shasta Lake, one of the largest recreational lakes in California. Also close is Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, McArthur Burney Falls State Park and Lake Shasta Caverns.
